global lead study abroad program - cape town, south africa (june 2010)
Taking a leap of faith off Bloukrans Bridge
▪ Global L.E.A.D is a very unique program with roots at the University of Georgia. The program offers students the opportunity to study in cities that have a presence of adventure as well as an environment that aid in lessons of leadership and service learning.
▪ While in Cape Town, our learning experiences included a tour of Nelson Mandela's prison by a former cell mate to a real life lesson of spending the night in a local underprivileged township.
▪ This trip emphasized personal development and afterwards I truly emerged with improved leadership skills and a surge of confidence and motivation.

lsu in london - london, england (july 2009)
LSU in London students visiting Stonehenge
▪ On my study abroad in England through the LSU in London program, I took courses in English Literature and Theatre. The great thing about this program was the ability to compare our classroom discussions with the museums we visited and the plays we viewed.
▪ We took many day trips to areas surrounding London, these trips included William Shakespeare's hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon, Brighton, Canterbury, and Winchester. We were able to visit many iconic sights such as Stonehenge, the Tower of London, and also the Globe Theatre.
▪ This trip was the first time in my life that I traveled abroad by myself and was placed in a group in which I knew no one. It forced me to step outside my comfort zone and in return it fortified my sense of independence, especially in situations in which I may have previously been apprehensive.
